                        Providing Support

There are many articles and blogs that provide us with invaluable information and experiences from our fellow Financial Divorce Professionals.  Learning from each other and sharing what we know keeps us up-to-date on the ever changing landscape of how to best serve the Financial needs of those we assist.  We are fortunate to have so many talented professionals who are part of FDA!  In the articles this month, we share links to writings of Linda Leitz and Bob Bordett.

            Happy Spring!!

Well, it will be interesting to see if people will be taking a hiatus from divorce during the summer months this year!  In my practice, since climbing out of the recession, it seems as though there is no summer or Holiday slow down in the area of divorce.

It is true that about 1/3 of Boomers will be experiencing retirement as a single!

Do the Courts fully understand the lasting financial consequences of dividing property and awarding maintenance for these later in life divorces. This makes the role of the divorce financial planner all the more critical in the divorces among the 50+ age group. As professionals in the area of family law, we should consider talking to  the legal and judicial communities to help them understand the financial impact longer life expectancies are having on the ability to create a sustainable retirement.

  • How to Test Drive Your Divorce - Bob Bordett
  • Should you test drive your divorce?  What does that really mean?
  • The Power of An Apology
  • A heartfelt apology can work wonders in the beginning to heal relationships, and in settling disputes.
